Party tracks Brutes to Brekart’s Tower and discover the Brutes are fortifying and road-building. A battle ensues outside the tower, and Calubaias’ heirloom sword is lost as a powerful Necromancer attacks. They are forced to retreat the tower.
The party retreats to Buckhorn Hold, to warn the lord of the local threat, and to beg aid. They are granted audience with Lord Sir Buck, who invites them to sup and gives advice and aid.
Party returns to tower with Sister Mercy to find the Necromancer fled with the sword. The Brutes are defeated and Fiona and three others rescued. Party learns that the Necromancer is a Waelishman named Virsast.
Party agrees to help Calumbias recover the sword, and leaves south on Virsast’s trail. Calumbias and Fiona leave for Wheatly’s Rest with the survivors.
On the road, the party encounters a group of monks taking a lost brother to his rest. The monks beg the boon of an escort, to which the party reluctantly agree.
Party delivers the monks to Blathe Thorpe, and rescue the lord’s missing grandson from a bear in a cave. Lady Edna rewards the party (in her husband’s absence).
Party continues the pursuit, but find a cooling trail. As they leave Blathe, an oracular goosewoman gives them an enigmatic warning about the upcoming night of the full moon. They spend the night in Ferrett Hold.
The party arrives at Fallowdown to find the river crossing closed. Virsast must still be in town. At their Inn, they are arrested. It is a set-up by Captain Rowellyn as a ploy to recover stolen goods from the Red Cloaks. The stone way is reopened, and due to their detainment by the captain, Virsast flees into Waelund with the Sword. Fletcher stays behind to deal with the blackmailing captain, while the party crosses the border in pursuit of Virsast. A terrible storm covers the region.
A strong earthquake hits as the party camps in the Ash Wood, along the trail of their quarry. The storm increases and they are forced to seek shelter in the belly of a Tor, an opening recently exposed by the earthquake. Therein they find and slay Virsast, who attacked them, breaking Storm-Peace.
Party waits out the storm inside the Tor, then returns to Fallowdown.
Arrive in Fallowdown to news that Fletcher was slain by members of the Red Cloaks when the trade turned sour.
Party travels to Ferrett Hold to repair Nicola’ssword, which was damaged in the Tor. Additional rest taken to recover from illnesses acquired from vermin attacks in the Tor.
